Women's Health: Benefits of wine for women

After a long day, sometimes the best thing for you is a big glass of wine and to put your feet up without having to hear how alcohol is toxic and you should do this or that instead. Well, the next time you are reprimanded for giving yourself a much needed reward as simple as a glass of wine, then you can use these reasons as a comeback.

Studies show that wine promotes longevity. That means that as a wine drinker, you live longer. How much longer? Well, according to a Finnish study performed in 2007, two thousand or so men were put to the test, and as it seems , wine drinks have a 34 percent lower mortality rate.

Wine reduces heart diseases and the risk of heart attacks. This is probably not new to anyone, but still a pretty good reason to keep the wine coming. If you keep your moderation when drinking wine, even with a high blood pressure, you'd still be able to lessen your risk of a heart attack because of the procyanidins

Wine also reduces the risk of colon cancer, cataracts, and type 2 diabetes. These are all results of studies made when comparing wine drinkers to beer drinkers or drinkers of other alcohol. Wine has many benefits when taken in moderation, just like other alcoholic beverages.  So the next time that you decide to have a glass of wine, you should not feel guilty at all. You are actually doing your body a favor!
